Gerontology is the scientific study of aging and aging proceses and offers insight into our elderly population. Careers in the field of Gerontology are increasing as the aging population expands. Currently and in the near future, many professionals will be needed to meet the demands of a continually growing older adult population. Missouri State University is the only university in Missouri offering a Bachelor of Science in Gerontology approved by the Coordinating Board for Higher Education. The undergraduate student that majors in Gerontology will receive an interdisciplinary foundation for professional development in many careers in aging.
