Follow your passion for gerontology

The gerontology undergraduate program at Missouri State is a comprehensive and interdisciplinary program.

Please feel free to talk with a gerontology advisor as soon as you have an interest in gerontology. You may apply to the gerontology degree program if you have completed at least 30 credit hours. These hours must include the following basic required courses: GEP 101, Computers for Learning, COM 115, ENG 110, MTH 135 or higher, and PED 100. Students must be admitted to a degree program before completing 60 credit hours.

Admission to a gerontology degree program establishes the catalog year for a student majoring in gerontology. The process of being admitted to a degree program begins after the fifth week of classes each semester.

You may apply to the degree program by:

  1. Obtaining an Application to a Degree Program form and a CASA degree audit, which is the computer printout of completed and future coursework needed to graduate, from Hill Hall 313
  2. Making an appointment with your advisor to review the degree audit and to get the advisor’s signature on the degree application form
  3. Returning the completed forms to the degree check office in Carrington 304
