The two year program is designed for 20 full-time students (10 students per year) and is taught by a core faculty of six I/O psychologists in a department with over 30 full-time faculty members.
Adopting the scientist-practitioner model, the I/O track is designed to develop research skills and general knowledge of I/O content areas. The focus is on application of psychological principles and research methods in a variety of settings, including business, industry, government, and non-profit organizations.
Students can select either an internship or thesis option.
For the academic year of 2007 the I/O program received 60 applications and enrolled 11 students. The average undergraduate GPA of those enrolled during the same time period was 3.4, and the average GRE scores were 519(V), 603(Q), 1122(V+Q), and 4.5(Advanced Psych).
