Missouri State University is one of the major universities of the Midwest, with an enrollment of approximately 17,000 students from throughout Missouri, the United States and the world. The main campus is located on 190 acres in a residential area of central Springfield.

The growing and diverse Department of Psychology is currently comprised of 30 full-time faculty. The I/O Faculty, in addition to having interests in the traditional I/O areas, are also active in the areas of substance abuse in the workplace, individual assessment, work-family issues, work-safety and health issues, affirmative action, and the application of item response theory.
