Assistant Professor (Behavioral Neuroscience), Psychology Department

Required Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Psychology, area of research interest is open, but must have expertise in behavioral neuroscience. ABD will be considered, with expected completion by start date.
  • Ability to teach physiological psychology at the undergraduate and graduate (MS) levels
  • Promise of effectiveness in teaching, research/scholarship, and service

Preferred Qualifications

  • Research interests emphasizing the use of human participants
  • Ability to direct undergraduate and graduate research projects
  • Research interests synergistic with current departmental faculty members
  • Ability to contribute to other departmental teaching needs, including on-line course development.

Duties

Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in physiological psychology, with the opportunity to offer additional courses in area of expertise, as consistent with departmental needs. Research responsibilites include the development of an active and productive research program involving undergraduate and/or graduate students. Service responsibilities include serving on university, college, and departmental committees and participating in activities that contribute to the community and the public affairs mission of the university.

Assistant Professor (Quantitative), Psychology Department

Required Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Psychology, area of research interest is open, but must have expertise in Quantitative methods particularly in multivariate statistics, structural equation modeling, factor analysis, and psychometric methods. ABD will be considered, with expected completion by start date
  • Ability to teach statistics and research methods courses at the undergraduate and graduate (MS) levels
  • Contribute to statistical consulting institute within the College of Health and Human Services
  • Promise of effectiveness in teaching, research/scholarship, and service

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to direct undergraduate and graduate research projects
  • Ability to contribute to the masters degree program in psychology
  • Ability to contribute to other departmental teaching needs, including on-line course development
  • Potential to seek external and internal funding

Duties

  • Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate statistics, research design, and graduate multivariate statistical methods. Additional courses to be taught will depend on departmental needs and the applicant’s area of expertise. Contributing to the undergraduate and graduate programs via directing theses and/or practica is expected.
  • Research responsibilities include the development of an active and productive research program involving undergraduate and/or graduate students.
  • Service responsibilities include serving on university, college, and departmental committees and participating in activities that contribute to the community and the public affairs mission of the university.
