Why take the experimental option?
Gain the skill set for a doctoral program
This option puts you on the path toward a PhD. You’ll have a strong background in statistics and research, which makes you more qualified when you apply to doctoral programs.
Be ready for your career
Do you want to work in academics (college professor) or research one day? This option prepares you for both areas. If a PhD isn’t for you, your master’s degree can also help you become a statistical consultant or data analyst.
Advance the field through research
Gain deep research experience while you work under a professor. You can co-author papers and presentations. Explore areas like cognitive neuroscience, developmental science, quantitative psychology and more.
Customize your degree
Focus on the topic or area that matters to you. In the experimental option, you can choose nearly half of your classes.
Teach at the college level, conduct more research or branch out into other roles.
