Brain and Behavior Lab

  • Location: Hill Hall 431

Research in this lab tries to connect cognitive processes with neurophysiological processes.

The lab has BioSemi EEG equipment and a BIOPAC system.

  • BioSemi EEG: Records the brain’s response to sensory stimuli.
  • BIOPAC system: Charts pulse and galvanic skin response.

Clinical labs

  • Location: Hill Hall

Hone your group therapy techniques in our clinical labs. These labs are like most clinics.

However, our two labs have video cameras, audio recording devices and one-way mirrors.

You can practice your interviewing and diagnostic skills. Your peers observe the process and make recommendations following the exercise.

Experimental labs

  • Location: Hill Hall fourth floor

Smaller, experimental labs are available for your needs.

From conference-size rooms to smaller rooms with tables, you can use these labs for a variety of projects.

Some labs have computers used for test-taking and data analysis.

Health lab

  • Location: Hill Hall

The health lab has a cold pressor test and galvanic skin response machine.

Most research conducted here covers the use of acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) in health populations.

Infant behavior lab

This lab studies the motor, cognitive and social development of infants and young children.

Researchers use behavioral observation methods and neurobehavioral assessments.

Explore the educational uses of mnemonic (memory enhancing) strategies.

These include the keyword method, the face-name mnemonic, the pegword method and the digit-consonant mnemonic.
